Donations from ExxonMobil Employees add up to $1.5 million for Illinois Colleges

While colleges and universities across Illinois have been having a rough time during this state budget crisis, they are now getting some GOOD news from the ExxonMobil refinery. Spokesperson Trisha Simpson says the annual campaign of employees contributing to schools around the state of their choice has produced $1.5 million in donations to 34 different schools.  For every contribution an employee makes, ExxonMobil then triples the amount and makes their own donation.  This year’s total is an increase from last year’s $1.1 million total.

Simpson says ExxonMobil employees just have to look up the “easy match” section on the company website, and declare the school of their choice.
