Illinois Prisons Need 420 Million-Dollars To Make It Till June

Illinois prison managers say they need 400 million-dollars or they won’t be able to make it till the summer. The Illinois Department of Corrections’ Director John Baldwin yesterday told an Illinois Senate panel that he needs 420 million-dollars immediately. The DOC is not the only piece of state government needing more. Lawmakers are looking at a billion dollar ‘supplemental’ spending plan to pay bills not covered in last summer’s budget.
