The Will County State's Attorney's Office is getting some help from the FBI in the on going investigation of the murder of three year old Wilmington girl Riley Fox five years ago. State's Attorney Jim Glasgow has announced that special agent in charge of the Chicago FBI office Robert D Grant has joined the efforts, after 18 months of talks concerning possible federal assistance for the case. FBI agents have been reviewing files on the case for about a year. A canvassing of the area around where Riley Fox lived in Wilmington was conducted on Wednesday. Riley Fox was found missing on a Sunday morning in June of 2004, and was found deceased in nearby Forked Creek that afternoon. Her father Kevin Fox was arrested and jailed from late 2004 to mid-2005, then released when DNA testing did not connect him to the crime.
