The Clock Is Ticking
The long wait is about over for Minooka business owners. Mayor Jason Briscoe told me that downtown renovation will be completed by the end of May. The project has hurt businesses in the downtown area of Minooka, in fact one had to close its' doors and another could close down soon. Let's hope the work gets done on time!
Big Mall Coming
It's a done deal. Joliet has approved the "new lifestyle mall" which will be located at I-55 and I-80.
Lady Rocker Coming to TASTE
Rocker Pat Benetar is coming to the Taste of Joliet on June 28th. The Saturday night show costs just $10. Benetar is Billboard Magazine's two-time Female artist of the year.
JoDee Messina is Coming to Town
The Joliet Park District welcomes JoeDee Messina to the Taste of Joliet on Sunday, June 29th. She's had nine big hits and fans will get to see her for just $10. A rock act for Saturday night will be announced soon.

Jefferson St. Makeover?
Joliet Director of Planning Don Fisher told WJOL that Jefferson St. is moving full steam ahead. New developments are planned for the Menards/Walmart property, the former Babes Hotdogs location at Jefferson and Springfield, the old Spot Not Car wash on Larkin and the old Bert Adams is being renovated and will remain a car dealership. A Marriott is going in at I-80 and Houboldt to add to the large number of hotel rooms joliet already has.
