Two tragic accidents led to deaths on Friday. Nineteen year old Kevin Benes of Homer Glen was the driver of a vehicle involved in a crash on 143rd Street near i-355 around 2 PM in the afternoon. He was pronounced deceased at 2-36 PM at Silver Cross Hospital. Benes' vehicle collided with a Dodge Ram Pickup driven by a 24 year old Homer Glen resident.
It was earlier Friday than an accident on Caton Farm Road at Fresno led to the death of 17 year old Joliet resident Eric Bander. Police said the mustang Bander was driving westbound on Caton Farm Road lost control....and hit a Honda Accord that was driving eastbound. The driver of the Accord was treated and released....but Bander was pronounced deceased at 8-31 AM in the Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center Emergency Room.
