Savio's Death Continues to Dominate Peterson Hearing
A pathologist hired by the state testified Friday that Kathleen Savio was murdered and didn't drown in a dry bathtub in 2004. Savio was retired police officer Drew Peterson's third wife, and her body was exhumed in 2007 after the disappearance of his fourth wife. Dr. Larry Blum performed the 2007 autopsy on Savio and testified that injuries to her front, back and sides couldn't have happened by accident. He told a judge in a pre-trial hearing in Joliet that he'd reviewed 43 other cases of bathtub deaths in Illinois and Savio's didn't match any of them. Peterson faces first-degree murder charges in connection with Savio's death.
