A Sight To Behold At Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood

The rain, wind, and cold didn’t dampen the spirts of about 2,000 volunteers on Saturday to place wreaths at gravesites at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. It took only one hour to place 36,000 wreaths as part of National Wreaths Across America day. Organizers encourage people to take a ride out to ALNC in the next few weeks saying it’s a remarkable scene.

Organizer Wally Chlipala says, “It displays the true goal of Remembering the fallen. Honor those who serve and teaching the next generation the value of freedom.”

The wreaths will be in place for 4 weeks.
