Press Release — Shorewood resident Thomas Scott McCullagh will offer voters another option for Illinois Senate 49th District in November 2020. This district includes all or parts of Aurora, Bolingbrook, Crest Hill, Joliet, Montgomery, Naperville, Oswego, Plainfield, Romeoville, and Shorewood. Tom says, “I want to have a state where my children and everyone’s children can grow up and have a future. I want Illinois to be a place where you know that when you buy a house, you can afford it without outrageous property taxes and where your retirement accounts will be secure. Everyone wants to live in a place where they know their voice and their opinion matters.”

Tom continues: “The tax and fee structure in Illinois is causing a mass outflow of residents to states with better tax rates. If we are to have a hope of fiscal survival in Illinois, we must reduce personal and corporate tax rates to allow for personal and corporate growth. Without this many families do not have a sustainable future in Illinois.”

Local small business owner McCullagh already invests heavily in the community. He is on the executive boards of K9s for Veterans, Forgotten Sons Homeless Veterans Charity and Channahon’s Forgotten Warrior Memorial, and is a member of Lions Club. Tom is married and has two daughters.

When Tom is elected to the Illinois State Senate, he will work for tax and fee relief, restoring fiscal sanity, the sanctity of human life and the Second Amendment. He will fight against the Madigan/Cullerton machine.

Tom says, “2020 is a fight for the heart and soul of our country. It is a fight against socialism. It’s a fight to give the voice back to all of Illinois, not just Chicago. It’s a fight for the rights and lives of unborn babies. It is a fight to regain fiscal sanity and stop over-taxation.”
