Barricaded suspect in Plainfield Township in Custody

UPDATE: The Sheriff’s Office has CALLED OFF the ‘shelter in place’ advisory at this time. The barricaded male is now in the custody of Sheriff’s Office detectives. The Sheriff’s SWAT team has cleared the inside of the house and the surrounding area of any potential danger to the public. Roads are now clear to travel. Residents, businesses, and schools can now return to normal activities.

WJOL has learned of a barricaded suspect in Plainfield Township. The Will County Sheriff’s Office received a call at 9:41 a.m. about an incident in the 25000 block of Dina Court.  No other information is available other than the barricaded suspect is a male and that the female who called 911 has been taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A perimeter has been set up in the surrounding area and residents have been advised, thru a reverse 911 call, and police going door-to-door, to shelter in place. The shelter in place advisory covers a quarter-mile area from the residence. Schools that are within the perimeter area have been notified and are taking appropriate measures. Road closures at this time include north and southbound Drauden Road and Caton Farm.
