Bill Would Allow Illinois College Athletes Compensation For Endorsements

An Illinois lawmaker is working to pass a bill that would allow college student athletes to sign endorsement deals and hire agents. Democratic Representative Chris Welch says the proposal is about fairness and equity. The bill is based on a law that was passed and signed earlier this week in California. Minnesota, Kentucky, Florida, and South Carolina are among the states considering similar legislation.
