Bill Would Help Crack Down On Smash-And-Grabs

Illinois lawmakers are considering a bill that would help crack down on a rise in smash-and-grabs.  The measure would codify a legal definition for organized retail crimes and provide prosecutors with more resources to charge suspects.  The proposal would also allocate annual funds to the attorney general’s office for more investigators and lawyers dedicated to organized retail theft.
