Bolingbrook Residents May Want To Attend Will County Board Meeting Regarding Rezoning Of Quarry

A local quarry is seeking to do blasting that would affect residential subdivisions in Bolingbrook.

Bolingbrook residents may want to attend a public hearing in Will County regarding the zoning of the property at the southeast corner of 127th and Essington Road.

Bolingbrook Mayor Mary Alexander-Basta posted on her Facebook page that , “the owners of the quarry have submitted an application to Will County to rezone a portion of the property at the southeast corner of Reagan Boulevard and Essington Road from agricultural to industrial. In addition, they are also seeking special use permits to expand the current mining operations on the adjacent property to the south. The Village is opposed; however, since this area falls under Will County’s jurisdiction, all concerns must be brought to the Will County Plan Commission and the County Board.”

Basta adds, “If you have concerns, we encourage you to share them with your County Board representative and/or attend the hearing.”

The hearing will be held Tuesday, October 1st at 6:30 p.m. in the Will County Board Room located at 302 N. Chicago Street.
