Bolingbrook’s Independence Elementary Hosts First Responders

On Wednesday, September 11th, Independence Elementary School hosted Bolingbrook’s first responders for a Patriot Day breakfast. This annual event pairs the Village police and fire departments with Independence staff and students for the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance and a flag raising.

This beautiful event commemorates the tragic events of September 11, 2001, and provides a moment for Bolingbrook’s youth to say thank you to those who serve our community. Chief Mike Rompa would like to thank Principal Lizzeth Fausto and her school for continuing this great tradition.
