Candidacy Petition Filing for the April 1, 2025, Consolidated Election
Three At-Large Joliet City Council Positions will be on the ballot for the April 1st, 2025 Consolidated Election.
Candidacy petitions must be filed with the Joliet City Clerk’s Office at 150 West Jefferson Street, between Tuesday, November 12, 2024, and Monday, November 18, 2024, during normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
*The Joliet City Clerk’s Office will remain open until 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 18, 2024, to accept petitions for candidacy.*
First Day of Filing, Tuesday, November 12, 2024: All petitions filed by candidates (or their designee) waiting in line at the City Clerk’s Office at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, are considered simultaneously filed.
Last Day of Filing, Monday, November 18, 2024: All petitions filed by candidates (or their designee) after 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 18, 2024, will be considered simultaneously filed.
*Any petition filed after 8:00 a.m. on November 12, 2024, and before 4:00 p.m. on November 18, 2024, will be on the ballot in the order it was received.*
Simultaneous Filing Lottery
The lottery to determine ballot order of candidates who simultaneously filed petitions to run for the above-mentioned Joliet City Council positions in the 2025 Consolidated Election will take place on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at 8:00 a.m. in the City Clerk’s Office located in the Joliet Municipal Building. 150 W. Jefferson Street. Joliet. Illinois. The lottery is open to the public and candidates are not required to attend.
