Cathedral Area Preservation Association Hosts Garage Sale & Community Events
The Cathedral Area Preservation Association (CAPA) is proud to present upcoming events that engage the community and celebrate the historic nature of the Cathedral Area neighborhood.  These events would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors. 

 

Garage Sale

The Cathedral Area Preservation Association of Joliet will be hosting their annual neighborhood-wide Garage Sale on Thursday, Aug. 1st, Friday, Aug. 2nd & Saturday, Aug. 3rd. Wine Walk

Sold Out! Residents of, and visitors to, the Cathedral Area will taste 12 wines from around the world served at four beautiful homes in this historic neighborhood. Food pairings will be done by Chef Tim Bucci and the Award-Winning Joliet Junior College Culinary Arts department. Beer Walk

The Cathedral Area Preservation Association will be hosting its 3rd Annual CAPA Beer Walk on Saturday, September 28th, 2019! Participants will visit the backyards of 6 historic homes in the Cathedral Area within walking distance of each other, at which they will sample craft beers from 25+ breweries and food from 7 local restaurants. Each guest will receive a souvenir event glass. Tickets are $50 per person and will go on sale August 1st at 10am via Eventbrite! Last year’s event sold out in two hours so don’t hesitate on tickets! Tickets will be limited to 4 per person so get your groups together now!

 

The Big Lagniappe will be playing a special Concert in the Park at Preservation Park immediately following the Beer Walk! This event is facilitated by the Joliet Park District in conjunction with the CAPA Beer Walk, and is a drop in event for all neighborhood residents and visitors.

About the Cathedral Area Preservation Association: Founded in 1981, CAPA actively preserves the historic nature of our neighborhood and unique domestic architecture through a variety of events and strategic outreach.  Members actively work to preserve the historic nature of the Cathedral Area of Joliet and participates in a multitude of outreach projects such as the provision of neighborhood improvement grants, and community partnerships.

CAPA is the 2017 Joliet Chamber of Commerce and Industry Association Award winner in recognition of dedication and preservation of the Cathedral Area.
