Nominations for the Annual Joliet Historic Preservation Award are due March 1, 2019. The City of Joliet bestows this annual award, which recognizes properties that have undergone recent exterior and/or interior preservation, restoration, rehabilitation, adaptive use, or sympathetic additions, as well as people who exhibit dedication to the field of historic preservation.

Last year’s winners included:

  • 318 South Midland Avenue for the interior restoration Craftsman bungalow.
  • 604 North Raynor Avenue for the front façade restoration of the Neoclassical Cathedral of St. Raymond church
  • 50 West Jefferson Street for the adaptive reuse of a portion of the Beaux Arts Joliet Union Station for MyGrain Brewery
  • 310 Bridge Street for the exterior preservation of the castellated Romanesque Sehring Mansion
