City Split On Slammers Naming Rights

The City of Joliet releasing some details regarding the naming rights for the Slammers Stadium. The City and the Slammers have agreed that the City shall own the naming rights in and to the stadium and shall have the sole and exclusive right to name or rename the stadium. While the revenue from the naming rights was not released, there will be a 50/50 split between the Slammers and the City of Joliet after expenses. The stadium will be known as the DuPage Medical Group.

The City will contract and pay in full for the cost of the permanent signage to be affixed above the Main Entrance to the Stadium and also at the top of the Scoreboard. The Slammers will reimburse City 50% of the cost of this signage.

Interim City Manager Martin Shanahan has exercised the City’s right to approve said terms on June 4, 2019 by executing a Memorandum of Understanding. Shanahan congratulated the Slammers for their efforts in securing the naming rights agreement with DuPage Medical Group. The City of Joliet entered a five year lease agreement with the Slammers that signed in 2018 and will expire in September 30th of 2023.
