Clergy sex abuse survivors are blasting the Catholic Church for its handling of sex abuse investigations as bishops meet in suburban Mundelein for a weeklong retreat. Survivors and activists gathered in front of the Archdiocese of Chicago yesterday, calling for the church to include the survivors in its solution. The rally was held as bishops from all over the country gathered at Mundelein Seminary for a retreat of prayer and reflection on the clergy sexual abuse scandal. Activists have also called for the removal of Chicago Cardinal Blase Cupich from his role of organizing a worldwide summit on clergy sex abuse next month.
