CN crews are responding to an incident that occurred earlier this morning in Willow Springs, Illinois. The derailment resulted in 5 cars on their side. There is no danger to public safety and no injuries or dangerous goods have been reported. One of the derailed cars was carrying a plastic resin which leaked a minimal quantity of product but is now contained and will be cleaned up.

As a result of this incident, certain Metra and Amtrak trains will be affected. CN would like to apologize for any inconvenience this incident has caused.

The Metra Heritage Corridor trains will not operate between Lockport and Willow Springs. Passengers are encouraged to use Rock Island Joliet, BNSF, and Southwest Service trains as alternative transportation.
