Collins St Neighborhood Council Hosts Bilingual Candidates Forum
The Collins St Neighborhood Council invites the community, especially residents and business owners within Joliet District 4, to a Bilingual Candidates Forum on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Spanish Community Center located at 302 N. Eastern Ave, Joliet, IL.
Although the Collins St Neighborhood Council does not endorse any political party and/or candidate, it does however promote educational awareness of elections in order to foster a more informed community. The Collins St Neighborhood is at the heart of District 4 and their concerns, quality of life, economic development and safety are among the topics and issues up for grabs on April 2.
Furthermore, the neighborhood is diverse and in need of a forum that welcomes all, regardless of language spoken. This forum will allow the community to ask questions in one of the segments of the event. The three candidates running for District 4: Bettye Gavin (incumbent), James Foster and Damon Zdunich, have confirmed their attendance.
The Bilingual Candidates Forum will be held on March 23 and monthly meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Spanish Community Center.
