Construction Date Set For I-55 Des Plaines River Bridge in Channahon

IDOT announced today that work on the I-55 Des Plaines River Bridge in Channahon will start on Tuesday. Lane restrictions will take place in the overnight and weekend hours in both directions. Weather permitting, closures will take place from 9pm to 5am Sundays through Thursdays, 9pm Friday night to 9am Saturday morning, and 9pm Saturday to 11am on Sunday.
During the closures, one lane of traffic will be open. IDOT has given a detour, which includes I-80 and Route 47. Work should be completed in December.
