Construction Picked Up Early Along I-55

After months of construction, the Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that all lanes are open on I-55, between River Road and Lorenzo Road. IDOT opened the lanes on Saturday, July 9.
As work continues, occasional overnight lane closures will be required on I-55, to complete the work. The overall project is anticipated to be completed, weather permitting, in late July. The total cost of the work is $1.3 million.
