Lawyers for the Palatine man accused of driving through Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg last month believe he is being overcharged. Javier Garcia appeared in Cook County court yesterday on charges of terrorism and criminal damage to property. His attorney says he is mentally ill and there is no evidence that he has ties to any terrorist group or has any terrorist motives. Prosecutors say Garcia made 124 searches related to the mall before he crashed an SUV through the entrance of Sears store and drove through the mall’s common area on September 20th.
