In a statement to the public, the church says they have contacted the police and an investigation is on-going. Bishop Ronald Hicks canceled the relic’s scheduled tour within the Diocese of Joliet. Bishop Hicks also informed Canada’s Superior of the Companions of the Cross Order of priests.
