Domestic Abuser’s Death in Channahon Ruled Suicide
The man who died following a domestic violence incident in Channahon, died by his own hand. The Will County Coroner’s Office has ruled that 73-year-old James Darden died due to two self inflicted gunshot wounds to his chest. It was on Monday June 17th that the Channahon Police were called to the a home in the 25000 block of Fryer Street after hearing a report of a woman having been pistol whipped by James Darden. Authorities have stated that Darden arrived at the home and the woman inside, Darden’s domestic partner, refused to grant the him entry. Darden eventually was able to get inside the home and began to pistol whip the female in question. The victim and two other woman in the house were able the flee the premises and call 911. As Channahon Police arrived at the residence they discovered Darden in the back yard of the house with two self inflicted gunshot wounds to the chest. The female was taken to an area hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
