Domestic Battery Complaint Leads To Officer Involved Shooting In Crest Hill

One man is dead and a police officer is seriously hurt following a violent altercation in Crest Hill. Authorities say officers were called out last night to the 14-hundred Block of Pioneer Road regarding a domestic battery complaint.

Officers were confronted by Matthew Parks, who allegedly stabbed a Crest Hill officer in the leg with a knife. Another officer then shot Parks, who died at the hospital. The wounded officer is hospitalized in serious but stable condition.
