Downtown Plainfield Looks Like A Festival Every Weekend With Added Outdoor Dining

Outdoor Dining in Plainfield COVID-Style

The first weekend that outdoor dining was allowed in Illinois as part of the phase 3 reopening due to COVID-19, downtown Plainfield shut down Lockport Street to allow restaurants to thrive.

Plainfield Village Administrator Brian Murphy says shutting down a major road every weekend just wasn’t doable. Murphy says the mayor and others brain stormed and make inlets near restaurants to allow for more dining but also parking.

They even had their classic car parade last week went through downtown Plainfield as well.
