The woman killed in a crash on I-55 through the construction zone at Weber road has been identified by the Will County Coroner. Thirty-three year old Danielle Nino of Crest Hill was driving a 2012 Fiat through the construction zone on I-55 southbound just north of Weber Road in the right lane, on the morning of Friday, June 21st.

For unknown reasons, the Fiat lost control and over turned across the left two lanes that were shut down. The Fiat rolled onto the left shoulder, into the rear of the stationary Illinois State Trooper squad car while the trooper was still inside.

The District 5 trooper in the squad car was treated and released for minor injuries. Illinois State Trooper DeAnn Falat reminding motorists to reduce their speed, especially through construction zones.

The roadway was clearly marked with construction zone signage when this crash occurred. The driver of the Fiat, Danielle Nino, was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Will County Coroner. This remains an ongoing investigation by the Illinois State Police and no further information available at this time.
