El Chapo Convicted

A drug kingpin once named Chicago’s “Public Enemy Number One” is facing life in prison without parole. A New York federal jury convicted Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman today on drug conspiracy and money laundering charges. The head of the Sinaloa cartel was named “Public Enemy Number One” in 2013 and 2015 by the Chicago Crime Commission. Guzman used Chicago as a drug distribution hub. He’ll be sentenced in June.
