Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Open House

Saturday, July 29^th from 11:00am – 1:30pm, Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery will be hosting an open house.  Prior to the open house there will be a ceremony and during the ceremony they will recognize our local first responders (i.e., Elwood Police, Fire and EMS, Will County Sheriff Department, Hines VA Medical Center, and Jesse Brown VA Medical Center).  There will be senior VA leadership present that day as well.

Once the ceremony has ended, then the open house will begin.  The public will be able to look at some of the equipment that is used for cemetery operations, they can check out what a pre-placed crypt looks like, the Memorial Squad will hold mock services and a lot more.  There will be employees available to answer questions about the burial processing, scheduling a burial, eligibility, etc.

This is an opportunity for the public to come out and help celebrate our local first responders and then get a behind the scenes look at what goes on here at the cemetery.
