Lightening Strike In Joliet’s Cathedral Area And Video

Joliet fire and police departments are the scene of a suspected lightening strike and gas explosion on the near west side. Jeremy Orr says he heard a huge bang just before 7 this morning and he suspects lightening struck a tree in front of their house. Flames were seen shooting 30 feet into the air. The fire is in the parkway and shooting up from the ground. The family was able to evacuate safely. Joliet fire department is on the scene and it will take several hours to clear the area.
