Fatal Accident This Morning On I-80

Damaged boat hauled by one of the vehicles involved in the I-80 fatal accident.

A fatal accident on westbound I-80 at mile marker 126, at the I-55 interchange ramps occurred on Friday, July 5th. Reports that there was a minor accident at that location, when a semi plowed into the two cars at the scene. Illinois State Police said a woman was fatally hit while standing outside of her vehicle. The Will County Coroner has identified the woman as 44 year old Jeanna St. Peter of Momence, Illinois. She was pronounced deceased at the scene on Friday morning.

The Illinois State Police are investigating the incident. A autopsy was performed on Saturday July 6th 2024. Final cause and manner will be determined following Autopsy, Police and Toxicological reports.
