Fatal Crash In Manhattan Kills New Lenox Man

The Will County Coroner releasing the name of the man killed in yesterday’s crash in Manhattan. Forty-nine year old James Harbin Jr. from New Lenox was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 7:30 a.m. at Cedar Road and Baker Road. Harbin was the driver of a pickup truck that collided with semi-tractor trailer.

The fatal crash kept Cedar and Baker closed for hours. The driver of the semi truck was not injured. The Manhattan police department and the Will County Sheriff’s are investigating. The police department is looking to speak with any witnesses to the crash. Contact detective Mike Holford of the Manhattan Police Department at 815 478-4408. An autopsy will be performed on Wednesday, February 20th.
