Fatal Crash Tuesday Afternoon At Route 52 and Cedar Road

A fatal crash on Tuesday, September 3rd takes the life of a Crestwood man. Illinois State Police responded to a fatal crash, which occurred at the intersection of US Route 52 and S. Cedar Road on September 3, 2019 at 3:12 pm.

According to preliminary investigations, the Dodge pickup truck was traveling northbound on S. Cedar Road approaching the intersection of US Route 52. The Ford Freestar was traveling southbound on US Route 52 when the Dodge turned southbound on S. Cedar Road and was struck by the Ford. The Dodge over turned and Sergio Hernandez-Sanchez was ejected out of his vehicle.

Mr.Hernandez-Sanchez was taken to area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The Illinois State Police are investigating this crash and no further information is available at this time.
