Federal Judge Rejects Ed Burke Motions To Suppress Evidence

A federal judge is rejecting a host of pretrial motions filed by Chicago Alderman Ed Burke and his co-defendants in his racketeering case. Burke was seeking to suppress evidence and dismiss certain charges. The longest-serving city council member was indicted in 2019 on racketeering, bribery, and attempted extortion charges. The alderman is on track to face a jury next year, the same time he seeks re-election to the 14th Ward.
