The Plainfield Fire Protection District responded to a house fire in the 14200 block of Van Dyke Road on Thursday, October 10th at 3:51 pm. Upon arrival firefighters saw smoke coming from the back of the house and put one line on the fire and extinguished it. The fire started on the exterior of the house with some extension into the house. There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation. The Plainfield Fire Protection District was assisted by the Romeoville Fire Department and Aurora Township, Minooka and Troy Fire Protection Districts.
