For the first time in the Joliet area, a woman has been named school athletic director. Joliet Township Central High School’s new athletic director will be Jennifer Doede (DO-dee). She’ll take over for Stephen Locke who is moving to an administrative level. Doede tells the Scott Slocum show that her goal will be to continue the quality of culture that Locke created.

Jennifer Doede’s first day of work will be July 1st. She graduated from Andrew High School in 1994. Attended and graduated from North Central College in Naperville. At Andrew she is Division Chair for PE, Health, & Driver Education, Senior Class Council Sponsor, Co-Creator of the VJA POZsquad, and leader of the TBolts N Training Leadership group.

Doede says she learned from the first female athletic director in Will County. Barbara Barrows was the first female athletic director in Will County. She was named AD in 1997 at Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville.
