Former State Sen. Sam McCann’s Spending Under Federal Scrutiny

Spending by state Senator Sam McCann is under federal scrutiny. Federal prosecutors are looking into how McCann spent taxpayer funds that he was able to use to reimburse himself for mileage and pay for office staff. Authorities asked in February for McCann’s salary information, tax documents, bank records, mileage reimbursements, per diem payments, and emails spanning his three terms in office.
