Government Offices Closed Today Plus Veterans Day Ceremonies

Will County Veterans Events
The City of Joliet will be closed on Monday, November 11, 2024, in observance of Veterans Day. City Hall will reopen its doors on Tuesday, November 12 beginning at 8:00 a.m.
The Ottawa Street parking deck will be free of charge and there will be no enforcement of the parking meters on this day.
The week of November 11, 2024, will have regularly scheduled garbage and recycling pick up. The Veterans Day holiday on Monday, November 11, 2024, will not impact Waste Management’s schedule.
The Will County Office Building located at 302 N. Chicago St. will be closed in observance of Veteran’s Day. We will return to normal business hours on Tuesday, November 12th.

The City of Chicago is observing Veterans Day. A Veterans Day Ceremony will be held today at Soldier Field in the 1st floor United Club. The event will include special tributes to veterans from multiple past conflicts, including World War Two, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. The ceremony will also feature musical performances and a ceremonial wreath-laying. Governor Pritzker will be speaking.
