Governor Pritzker Proposes Justice Initiative

Illinois’ new governor is tasking a new part of state government to focus on justice reform. Governor JB Pritzker yesterday asked Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton to lead The Justice, Equity and Opportunity Initiative. The initiative is supposed to focus on ways to balance the state’s focus on sending people to prison. Stratton says the first task for the new piece of state government is to legalize marijuana in the state.
