Governor Pritzker Signs Law To Spend More On Critical Access Hospitals

Small, rural hospitals across the state of Illinois could soon be getting more money from the state. Governor JB Pritzker last week signed a new law that he says will deliver 55-million-dollars to critical access hospitals. Those are usually small hospitals in rural communities that treat people for just a few days. Hospital managers say they’re often hurt because the way Illinois pays for Medicaid tends to benefit larger hospitals.
