High School Football Starts Friday On WJOL

The high school football season starts next Friday night right here on WJOL with Joliet Catholic playing at St. Rita. It’s a new season with a new schedule and several schools in the area are excited about playing on new surfaces.

Bolingbrook has a new field and it has a unique look with black turf instead of green. Lincoln Way Central and Lincoln Way East both have new turf but Lincoln Way West will have to wait a while as their’s was still in good shape because the school is newer.

Minooka has field turf for the first time.

Lockport football fans will get to experience a new video scoreboard and Providence fans will be surprised to see that the visitors bleachers and old press box on the visitor’s side have both been removed for safety reasons.
