House Advances Bill To Bar Local Right-To-Work Laws

A bill is advancing in the Illinois House that would bar local right-to-work laws. Such laws prohibit employers from requiring workers to join a labor union as a condition of employment. The House passed a bill yesterday that has already cleared the Senate that would make clear that state government is exclusively allowed to enact laws governing union security agreements.
