IDES Reveals Extent Of Unemployment Collected While Working

The Illinois Department of Employment Security is revealing the extent of one aspect of unemployment fraud. Officials say nearly 15-million dollars in benefits have be paid out to people who were working but still collecting unemployment money. The amount is made up of those who were originally on unemployment, but then got a job and continued to collect payments. Officials say the number doesn’t include money paid out because of identity theft or other types of fraud.
