The Illinois Department of Public Health is warning the public to watch out for rabid animals as they become more active this time of year. The IDPH has received reports of four rabid bats in the state since May 15th from Champaign, Jackson, Macon and Will counties. A bite from a rabid animal can be potentially deadly if not treated.
