IEMA Offers Tips To Avoid Being Struck By Lightning

The Illinois Emergency Management Agency is offering tips to avoid being struck by lightning during thunderstorms.  While outside, avoid open fields, hills or ridge tops, stay away from tall, isolated trees or other tall objects and stay away from water.  When inside, stay away from anything connected to electricity, landline phones, and plumbing, stay away from exterior windows and doors, balconies, porches, and open garages, and don’t lie on concrete floors or lean against concrete walls.
