Illinois 113 Closure at BNSF Crossing in Coal City

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that the Illinois 113 crossing over the BNSF Railroad, in Coal City, will be closed for repairs beginning, weather permitting, Monday, Feb. 4.

A detour will be posted. Eastbound Illinois 113 will be directed to southbound Illinois 47 and northbound Interstate 55 to reconnect with Illinois 113. Westbound Illinois 113 will be directed to southbound Interstate 55 and northbound Illinois 47 to reconnect with Illinois 113.

The work is expected to be complete by Feb. 10, weather permitting.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
