Illinois Adding New 464 Area Code To 708 Region

Parts of the western and southern Chicago suburbs are getting a new area code. Officials with the Illinois Commerce Commission say starting Friday people in the 708-area code will be assigned a 464-area code if they request new service or an additional phone line. No existing phone numbers in the 708 area code will change.
