Illinois Bans Lying To Children, Teens During Interrogations

Illinois law enforcement will soon be prevented from lying to children and teens during interrogations. Governor J.B. Pritzker signed a bill into law yesterday banning the practice. Most law enforcement groups and courts in the U.S. say the technique raises the likelihood of minors making false confessions. The law takes effect at the beginning of next year.
