Illinois Bill Would Make It Easier To Sue Police

An Illinois House bill would make it easier to sue police officers. The Bad Apples In Law Enforcement Accountability Act would eliminate qualified immunity statewide. If it passes, the legislation would allow civil lawsuits against law enforcement officers if the plaintiff believes their Constitutional rights have been violated.
